Are there accessible beaches nearby?
Yes, many of Devon’s beaches are accessible and offer accessible facilities. Exmouth Beach is not too far from us and is a great example, offering a wide, level promenade, accessible parking and beach wheelchair hire during the peak season.
Are there any accessible boat trips nearby?
Many cruises operated by Stuart Line Cruises from their Exmouth departure point, just a short drive from us, are accessible and designed to accommodate a range of mobility needs. As accessibility can vary between individual excursions and departure locations, it’s recommended to contact the team before booking or visit their website for detailed accessibility information to help you choose the most suitable trip.
What should I check before visiting an accessible attraction?
Accessibility facilities can vary between attractions, so it’s always worth checking ahead for details on parking, step-free access, accessible toilets, mobility equipment hire and any assistance available during your visit.
Can I hire a mobility scooter?
Many locations and attractions in Devon offer mobility scooter hire or accessible equipment, though advance booking may be required, especially in busy periods, so we always recommend checking this before your visit.
Is parking available?
Most locations and attractions have public car parks nearby, including accessible spaces, although spaces can fill quickly during peak holiday periods. Arriving early is often recommended during the summer months.
Many thanks for another excellent stay, where we felt entirely safe from all covid threats. Many places have some good points which make one think "that's nice" but in The Granary, that applies to everything! There is no doubt we will be coming back.
Stayed in The Granary this time with elderly in laws and our dog. Great cottage all on one level with great accessibility features. Fantastic views and well thought out layout. Owners are very friendly and welcoming . Ideally placed for exploring around Exeter or for airport or exhibitions at Westpoint. Highly recommended.
The peace and tranquillity of the place, a recommended stress come down for any business person.
We had a fantastic time during our weeks holiday. A very warm welcome with freshly baked cakes and bread was just what we needed after a long drive! Fabulous hosts who were not at all intrusive but were on hand if we needed anything. Lovely location with beautiful views across the countryside. We would highly recommend to others as a fantastic place to relax and enjoy a family holiday. Thank you!
What a fantastic cottage in a perfect location. I would highly recommend this cottage, especially for wheelchair users as the cottage is designed to meet all requirements.
The Granary is a really wonderful place to stay. It is in a lovely tranquil location with countryside views. The property is very cleverly designed with a feeling of luxury throughout. Would highly recommend!

As experienced users of holiday cottages, we found the Granary to be one of the best that we have had the pleasure of using. The whole place is beautifully arranged and the welcome pack was the most extensive that we have ever found. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we needed nothing extra in the way off equipment. The garden was well maintained and thoroughly enjoyed by our grandchildren, who visited us during our stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. All in all a wonderful restful break.
The owners were there to greet us, Julia and Charlie and made us feel at home. Beautiful building in a lovely setting and very nicely fitted out. Very nice welcome pack(thank you) you want for nothing. Good instructions on how to get there, and our Sat/Nav worked well. Not too many narrow lanes. Easy access to the sea and local villages. Two good pubs close by. Very safe for animals. We will return.
